Pre-Ballet
A gentle first introduction to ballet. Children learn to listen to music, move in time with it, and hold a simple shape — the groundwork every later grade is built on.
What happens in class
- Musicality and rhythm through song, story and simple travelling steps.
- First positions of the feet and arms, taught as shapes rather than corrections.
- Turning, skipping and balance work that builds coordination and confidence.
- Listening, waiting for a turn and following instruction in a group.
Where it leads
Most children move on to Pre-Primary Ballet after a year, or when they are ready — whichever comes first. Nobody is moved up before they are comfortable.
