Information
What to expect
A short guide for families new to ballet — what a class looks like, what your child needs and how the year runs.
A typical class
Younger classes begin with music and movement and build towards simple set exercises. Older classes follow the traditional shape: barre, centre, then allegro. Every class ends with a curtsey or bow.
Attire and hair
Fitted clothing for a first class, with hair tied back off the face. Uniform requirements for continuing students are still to be confirmed.
Watching class
Whether parents may watch, and when open weeks run, is still to be confirmed.
Performances
Every student appears in the annual production. Further detail is still to be confirmed.
Still unsure?
Message us with any question at all. We would rather answer it before your child’s first class than after.
